The Dry Kids Original Over Trousers are waterproof trousers for boys and girls that go straight over whatever your child is already wearing. They are made for the sort of days that involve puddles, wet grass and a walk home in the rain, and they come off again at the door without a full change of clothes.
Waterproof protection
The fabric is 100% polyester with a PVC coating, tested to a hydrostatic head of 4000mm. Hydrostatic head measures how much water pressure a material can hold back before moisture starts to pass through, so a rating at this level means the trousers stand up to a steady downpour rather than a light shower.
Taped seams
Every seam is taped. Stitching creates small holes in any fabric, and those holes are usually where water gets in first, so sealing them helps the trousers keep working through heavier and longer spells of rain.
Elasticated waist
The waistband is elastic, which gives a comfortable fit that stays put while children run, climb and crouch down. There is no belt or buckle to fiddle with, so most children can pull the trousers on themselves.
Adjustable ankles
Poppers at the ankles let you take the leg in or leave it looser, so the trousers can be worn tucked inside wellies or left over the top of them. That is a useful bit of flexibility, since tucking in keeps mud off the boot and wearing them outside stops water running down into it.
Side openings
Side openings give quick access to the trousers underneath, so your child can adjust layers or pull the waterproofs on and off without stripping down first. It saves time at the school gate and on the edge of a muddy field.
