Children's PU Hat

The Dry Kids PU Hat is a proper waterproof hat for children, made from the same PU coated fabric as the rest of the PU range. It is the piece most people forget until they are halfway down the road in the rain with a hood that keeps blowing back.

Waterproof protection
The fabric is tested to 5000mm of hydrostatic head, a measure of how much water pressure a material can hold back before moisture starts to get through. At that level the hat keeps its wearer's head dry through heavy rain rather than just a passing shower, so it holds up on a full walk to school rather than the first few minutes of it.

Stays on in the wind
An elastic cord with a spring toggle pulls the hat in under the chin, which keeps it in place when the wind picks up. Anyone who has spent a walk retrieving a hat from a hedge will recognise why this matters, and older children can adjust the toggle themselves.

Seen in low light
Reflective piping runs around the edge of the brim, lifting visibility at night and in poor light. It works well for the walking bus home and for dark winter afternoons when children are near traffic.

Sizes
Three sizes cover most of the primary years. The 2 to 4 years fits a 53cm head, the 5 to 8 years fits a 55cm head, and the 9 to 12 years fits a 57cm head. Measuring around your child's head just above the ears is the quickest way to pick the right one.

Matches the PU range
The hat is made to go with the rest of the Dry Kids PU range, both the unlined and the polar fleece lined pieces, so it can be bought alongside a jacket and dungarees to complete the outfit.

Worn with a waterproof jacket, it takes care of the gap a hood alone leaves, keeping rain off the face and out of the eyes so children can see where they are going and carry on with the day.
